INFORMATION ABOUT STUDENT LIVING IN THE MANOR HOUSE AND HARINGEY AREAS OF NORTH LONDON:
Manor House is a popular location for student housing and living in the London Borough of Haringey in North London, with the post codes N4 and N15.
Most students live in groups of 5 and 6 in shared Victorian and Edwardian houses, in the side roads off the main road running between Manor House tube station and Turnpike Lane tube station both on the Piccadilly line. For information from Wikipedia on Manor House Station click here.
The upper roads between Green Lanes and Wightman Road are called the Haringey Ladder and the lower roads between Green Lanes and St Annes Road are called the Haringey Gardens. For information from Wikipedia on the area click here and here.
The walk from Manor House station to Turnpike Lane station will encompass walking directly past Finsbury Park itself with its facilities for football, tennis and basket ball, and its boating lake. For more information on Finsbury Park from Wikipedia click here.
You will also pass a modern and relatively new retail shopping complex called the Arena Retail Park which has a 24 Hour Sainsburys, a Next, Costa Coffee and other main retailers such as Homebase Argos Carphone Warehouse and one of the very first 24 hour drive through McDonalds to be opened in the UK. There is also a Fitness First gym and a Subway.
After passing the Arena Retail park, you will come to the Victorian shopping parade on Green Lanes N4 known as Grand Parade, which now houses a huge number of local privately run and mostly family managed specialist food and vegetable shops where fresh fruit vegetables and fresh bread are delivered and sold every day, 365 days a year.
The main road also has a large main post office and a branch of Barclays Bank and Santander.
There are three large pubs and numerous restaurants and take away food shops, as well as an Iceland and a Tesco Metro.

It is possible to walk past Turnpike Lane to The Mall Wood Green (or catch a bus just a few stops) where a multiplex cinema and almost every main chain store including a Marks and Spencer and one of the largest Primark branches can be found. For more detail about The Mall click here.
Manor House is always popular with students because of the period houses located in safe well lit quiet roads, with original features and good sized rooms, ideal for shared student living, the convenient and accessible shopping and other facilities within minutes of students' own front doors and the great transport links into central London which are convenient for all the main London universities and colleges.
